As we discussed in our last post we identified what affiliate marketing is, and how your blog site can be used to drive traffic to a merchant web site to create sales. But the key question was: How do we create traffic to our blog and direct that traffic to the merchant site? The affiliate link assigned to you by the merchant will take care of the traffic to their site. The main objective is to figure out how do we create the front load traffic to our blog?
As many of us have relatively new blogs (less than 60 days old) without a lot of rich and relevant content, there are several methods if used properly that can create almost instant traffic to your blog site:
1. Utilization of Article Directories allows you to write enticing articles to off site directories. Submit your articles promoting a merchants product to article directories is a good way to get back links to your site. It's also a great way to get traffic. Try using sites like Squidoo.com or Enzine Articles.com as they have their readership who may be looking for the topic your blog is focusing on. If you write a compelling article, people will visit your blog.
2. Utilize RSS Feeds: be sure to submit your blogs' RSS Feed to the most popular web feed services. This will create web traffic for your blog by focusing on the low competition keywords in your title and content. Some of the post popular feed site are Search 4 Rss.com, Feedage.com and Feedsubmitter.com.
3. Utilize Social Bookmarking as these services allow you to promote your blog site based on tag's (keywords) and a short content description of what the site is trying to appeal to. People see your description and will want to visit your site. The top services are Blog Catalog.com, Stumbleupon.com, MyBlogLog.com, Technorati.com and Del.icio.us.com.
4. Utilize Social Networking sites such as Facebook.com, Twitter.com, MySpace.com, Google Groups.com and Mylot.com. When you build your profile in these sites you are connecting with people, creating partnerships which will afford you the opportunity to promote your blog and products.
There are a couple of resources that link these methods together and are recommended for anyone who is starting a internet marketing online business.
